    Burn Congress 2019

    3 - 5 October 2019
    Durban Beachfront, South Africa

Dream Big. Challenge the status quo.

Burns has long been described as the Cinderella of the surgical disciplines, with only the most passionate or dedicated of health care providers seeking out a career in the field to brave the challenges and often devastating outcomes.

A successful outcome for the patient is only secured through a strong multidisciplinary team. The nursing staff, physio and occupational therapists, dieticians, psychologists, social workers and doctors (emergency medicine physicians, surgeons, anaesthetists, intensivists) each have an important role to play.

Congresses are a superb opportunity for us all to come together to share our knowledge as well as reignite the fires of inspiration. In 2019 South Africa opens its arms to the continent of Africa to welcome our brothers and sisters in the burn arena to come and join us in the first combined meeting. This offers us opportunities to build new relationships as well as to rekindle old.

"It always seems impossible until it's done. Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." Nelson Mandela
